I recently had to kill my first chicken in similar circumstances and although I had seen many done for the table as a child I did not remember that fat being so yellow. Thanks for the great article.

I started watching the new season a couple of days ago, and I think that a lot of this stuff is just set up for ratings. Other than that its good tv and I always like to see what people can cook.

Are you trying to hatch them so you can eat the meat? Because, honestly, all I can think of when you start numbering the eggs is, "Grab them! Boil them! Fry them! SunnySide Up them!" and other such thoughts.

I should try to make some lasagne sometime. All the pre-made gluten/soy free ones are just plainly expensive (might as well be in a catered residential college at that!) and don't really have the best taste or texture. I'd LOVE to reduce my food costs. Great Post! Any pasta suggestions. I can't have San Remo GF because of soy in it but most other brands are fine.

My favourite lazy food is green soup! It consists of anything and everything green or white, sauteed in a little butter then simmered for 20 mins or so before a quick smash with the potato masher. Serve with thick slices of buttered bread or large toasted cheese croutons. Yum yum!
